Let’s talk about INTENTION.
It’s critical not only for life but so fundamental to how I approach my life behind the chair.
Everything from the way I SHAPE to how I style/set the hair is done with intent.
The reason I have clients apply products head forward, then side to side…is intending to get the hair to move off the scalp in all directions. Sometimes, the hair likes to stick directly to the scalp.
It’s purposeful and a tool to help get us closer to our goal.
Curls and waves are not a one size fit all.
If you want your hair to look as long as possible:
You can leave more conditioner+water combo in the hair.
Glaze your styler onto the hair, pulling everything smooth between your palms.
Pressing the excess water out (with a t-shirt or the like) vs. Scrunching it out will help keep it elongated.
If you diffuse, you will run the diffuser along the hair’s surface while not disrupting vs. using the bowl to place the hair inside. Once it’s at about 80% dry, you can lightly stretch on the ends while holding the dryer above.
That’s just one example of intention=desired outcome.
If you can get the foundation of hydration down, you can start adapting and adjusting your routine to fit your intention.
